The Transgender Youth Awareness Program Speakers Bureau  draws on transgender people and their allies^* to share personal experiences and insight on issues related to gender identity and life as a transgender person or ally .  Much like the workshops and trainings, the bureau seeks to...

· Initiate dialogue among the audience members

· Educate from a personal perspective rather than a lecture-style presentation

· Involve an audience too large or otherwise ill-suited for a workshop setting

· Offer valuable role models for transgender youth

· Share inspiring new ways to be an ally

             ...and, in the end, help to create a safe environment for transgender youth.
